How We Look After Your Information

This policy explains how Harbour Foot Clinic collects and uses personal information through this website, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Harbour Foot Clinic, Harbour Street, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, is the controller of the personal information described here. To contact us about your information, phone 087 232 5143 or speak to us at the clinic.

What we collect and why

  • Enquiries: the details you give us when you contact us through the website or by phone, used to answer you. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before an appointment, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
  • Website analytics: how the site is used, collected with cookies only if you agree. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Technical data: our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Online bookings

Appointments booked online are handled by Cliniko, our clinic management system, which processes your booking details on our behalf under its own data protection terms. Details about your feet and treatment are recorded in your clinic record only for your care, kept confidential and never used for marketing.

Website enquiry forms

Please don’t include medical details in the website contact form. We’ll talk about your feet and any health questions in person or by phone. Enquiries are emailed to the clinic. We keep enquiries for up to 24 months unless you become a client, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your information. We only share it with service providers who help us run the clinic and the website, under contracts that require them to keep it secure and use it only on our instructions: Cliniko (bookings), our website and hosting provider, and Google (analytics). We may also share information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Website enquiries are kept for up to 24 months unless you become a client, in which case we keep your clinic records for as long as required for your care and our legal obligations. Analytics data is kept for no more than 14 months.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and ask for a copy to take elsewhere. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, phone 087 232 5143 or speak to us at the clinic. If you’re not happy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).

Website analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to understand how visitors use this website: for example which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are (town or region), what device they use and how they found us. Google Analytics does not store your IP address, and we don’t use it to identify you. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time using the cookie button at the bottom of every page. Google may process this data outside the EEA under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

Cookies we use

  • jz_consent (this website, necessary): remembers your cookie choices, 6 months.
  • _GRECAPTCHA (Google reCAPTCHA, necessary): protects our forms from spam, 6 months.
  • _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics, analytics, only with your consent): count visits and show how the site is used, up to 2 years.
